MF band: New Caledonia, China, New Zealand and KNBR San Francisco

Dec 7: very good opening to north, with extremely low static / QRN level for a summer!
CNR 6 was loud for hours (with typical QSB) and checked against 6165. Have heard China on MF before, but never so loud!

Antenna: 15m vertical tuned to 700KHz with high-Q loading coil at the base, 12x20m radials.

567 R New Zealand, 26/11 10:00 English “News at 11.Phil O’Brien”. Loud, but best on LSB.

594 NZ Rheema, New Zealand 26/11 10:00 English, News rheema.co.nz “your Christian radio station” S6 good copy.

666 NouvelleCaledonie 1ere, Noumea, NCL. 7/12 15:20 Loud and clear. Pop / rock music in both French and English. Station ID “ N-C-premier”.

680 KNBR, Sand Francisco, USA [pres] 7/12 carrier visible from 10:20 very weak, best 13:14 – 14:40 reporting a sporting event. At 14:27 YL+OM talk. Carrier gone around 14:50. Mention of “Bay area”.

909 CNR6 7/12 10:15 IN Chinese. YL+om presenters Verified against CNR6 6165 KHz. Initially weak but on clear ch. At from 13:56 to 14:07 peaked at S8! Very loud and clear.Slow Chinese-westernized music. Off 16:05
